You’re not a skier? Or you’d just like to spend a day far away from the pistes?
Tell yourself “Off to a winter walk” and breathe in some peace! Whether young or old, this relaxation, this peace is necessary for everyone in our day and age.
The holiday region of Gitschberg Jochtal, favourite walking target in summer, also offers numerous options for walking around the mountains in winter. Even without the long “boards” underneath your feet, the good alternative to fast downhill skiing or snowboarding can offer plenty of fun. Forests under a fresh cover of snow, hours on the peaks with surprising views into the distance, comfortable huts and mountain pastures offer unforgettable experiences.
We have worked hard to offer something for every taste, for big and small, for old and young and for (nearly) every snow situation: from walks on cleared paths all the way to tours through untouched snowfields, or cosy hut visits to demanding peak goals.
For families with small children winter walks are a particularly good alternative to the fast paced skiing. An unforgettable experience in winter are our weekly walks with torches. Participate in the guided winter walks with torches, get familiar with the region at sunset and at night.
You don’t need much for the winter walks: a solid pair of boots, gaiters are very useful outside of the cleared winter paths, weather proof clothing and some physical fitness.
